The Lopesan Baobab Resort at Maspalomas has an unforgettable African theme running throughout it's lavish surroundings. We are talking *spectacular* indeed! If you are lucky enough to choose a suite then prepare for your heart to beat double time. Contemporary living room with 40" flat screen TV and some impressive artwork; Dining Area with full dining room suite with food, wine and chocolates; Huge wardrobe storage, separate from the bedroom; Huge bedroom with large leather sofas, writing desk, large wall mounted flat screen tv; Huge bathroom area with double contemporary sinks, sunken bath and a fabulous wet room shower; Very large balcony with 2 full sun loungers and full patio set with great views over the main pool area with the sand dunes and sea very close in the background. With spectacular lights all around until midnight, every night, and the waterfalls just to gaze upon until you are ready to settle for the night is just a very memorable delight and taking this to the top of anyone's bucket list for sure.

Caribbean, Mexico, Playa del Carmen, El Dorado Maroma Spa & Hotel

As always, Mexico comes up trumps and this location is no exception with stunning pools, hammocks and of course the golden beach with blue ocean for as far as you can see. The rooms are a delight also, towels, dressing gowns, sofas and especially the beds! The most outstanding feature though, as you will see from browsing the pictures on the blog, is each room has it's own pool on the balcony. The attention to detail is exceptional, as is the service to an extremely high standard. There is a beautiful beach setting for weddings and a gorgeous beach front church seating around 40 people. For a smaller location this seems to have it all at The El Dorado Maroma here in Playa del Carmen. :)

Arriving at here at Tenerife you will probably enjoy dining next to the pools here at H10 Costa Adeje Palace. The evening entertainment always seems well received and you will certainly never struggle to hear even if you're at the back! All rooms seem very spacious and if you select a balcony you'll be impressed with how large they are. Everywhere is spotless with all of the staff being very efficient and always polite. Lots of nice walking around here going out of Adeje and you are just 10 minutes walk from the main shopping area too.

Greece, Dodecanese, Kos, Kardamena, Porto Bello Beach Hotel

The immaculate Atlantica Club Porto Bello Beach, next door to it's sister Porto Bello Royal on the west, is set in the most unspoiled and picturesque region of Kos. Direct access to the beach and only 3 km from the village of Kardamena with a free shuttle bus available too. The beach bar has plenty of tables and the pool areas are very nice also. Most notable, is the fantastic cocktail list and the friendly and efficient bar staff which will keep you interested all week long. Take a trek up the mountain behind to take in great vistas of all the island of Kos here in Greece.

Rhodes has been a popular destination for as long as I can remember and Lindos is a particular treat here in Greece. With the excellent quality beaches here to tempt you all day long. Save time also for a walk up to the acropolis and explore the town with views from the top to reward you with afterwards.

ClubHotel Riu Funana on the island of Sal is just a 15 minute transfer from the airport and you will be greeted with a totally luxurious location on arrival. The pools are amazing and relaxed all day with no problems getting beds and clean towels daily. The beach is so picturesque with lots of locals offering day trips and a full daytime and evening entertainment programme is available for your choosing. For real life at Cape Verde visit the town of Santa Maria which is a short taxi ride away.

Puerto Del Carmen is a wonderful destination with the choice of seven beaches up and down this area. Here we are at the main beach with the easily accessible Suite hotel Fariones Playa just behind us. What is often overlooked is the fantastic historic town of Tías which is just a few kilometers North and has fascinating history with settlements dating back to 1493. Great hotels, beach, history and a few minutes from Lanzarote airport - ticks all my boxes!

The Calabria region of southern Italy is rugged, beautiful and mostly undeveloped. Here at the picturesque harbour town of Tropea there are miles of unspoilt beaches to be enjoyed. If you are feeling nautical, maybe use this as a sailing location to get to Palermo, the capital of Sicily, or other smaller islands nearby. Soaking up the sun or the history here is perfect for families, couples or a romantic tripette.

Spain - Canary Islands - Lanzarote - Playa Blanca

Another great destination at Playa Blanca in Lanzarote where you won't get the daily run to reserve sun loungers because there are so many! This is a huge complex and an enjoyable daily walk around, can be had, to get the layout in perspective. Timanfaya Palace has the usual "themed" nights such as Mexican and Chinese with a larger than average choice of wines and drinks especially if you choose the privilege option with your own privilege lounge and branded drinks too. So nice, you'll probably not even want to wander off the complex to the older Playa Blanca town.
